One of my most asked questions from both my newborn and family lifestyle session clients is, “What should we wear for our session?” I totally get it. You want to look the best for your family pictures! You may be a few weeks post partum and might not be sure how to dress your body. You’ve always heard that stripes make you look wide. Are there certain colors that don’t photograph well? There are a lot of things to consider when choosing what your family wears for your session! And your outfits can make or break your photos, so you want to get it right!
This year, I have chosen to take my background as a former Stitch Fix stylist (they taught us alllllll the tricks, you guys!) to style my clients for their sessions. I have partnered with a company called Style and Select to take all the guesswork out of choosing what to wear for your session.
How does this work, you ask? Its easy!
After my clients book their session, I send through a questionnaire that has a few simple questions about who I’m styling and any clothing preferences. From there, I work with Style and Select to choose pieces for everyone in the family that 1. Align with questionnaire answers and 2. Will photograph beautifully.
Clothing selections are from a variety of affordable favorites like Zara, Nordstrom, Amazon, Old Navy, and more. There are also items from several online boutiques and Etsy shops, so there is a lot of variety and something for everyone!
There is no commitment to buy anything I choose for my clients to wear. This is solely a service I provide to my customers to try to make life just a little easier! Every little bit helps, right? Clients can also use my choices as inspiration to make their own choices.
Lastly, if my clients would prefer to style themselves for their lifestyle session, I can provide them with their own login to Style and Select so they can go through the styling process on their own. Its easy and fun to experiment with different looks!
I would love to hear what you think about this service I provide my clients! Let me know what you think in the comments below!
