When you’re investing in interior photography in Fort Worth, you want to get the most value from your shoot. One of the simplest ways to stretch your marketing dollars while still receiving high-quality, professional images? Cost sharing for interior photography.
It’s a cost-efficient option that allows designers, builders, and vendors to split the investment and walk away with images they can each use to market their work.
What is cost sharing for interior photography?
Cost sharing for interior photography allows multiple project partners to share the cost of one shoot, while each receiving their own licensing.
Here’s how it works: Instead of each vendor hiring their own photographer (often to shoot the same space), we do one session. Then, a small surcharge is added for each additional party who wants access to the gallery and usage rights – typically 30% per participant. That adjusted total is then divided between everyone involved.
Each participating party receives the full gallery of professionally edited images, along with a promotional use license that allows them to share the photos across their own marketing platforms.
It’s a simple and cost-efficient way to make the most of a project you already brought to life together.

Why cost sharing benefits everyone involved
Cost sharing helps everyone walk away with high-quality images without funding their own shoot. This is how the parties would work together:
- Designers get to lead the creative direction and ensure the space is styled and captured exactly how they envisioned it.
- Builders receive polished images that highlight their craftsmanship, perfect for portfolios, social media, and future bids.
- Vendors like cabinet companies, tile brands, or lighting reps get professional images of their products in a real-world, styled environment – without having to coordinate or pay for their own separate session.
Because the cost is shared, it’s often more accessible. This is especially important for smaller vendors who wouldn’t typically invest in a solo shoot. Since everything is already styled and camera-ready, each party gets more polished images than they likely could on their own.
What’s included with a shared promotional license
Everyone who participates in cost sharing for interior photography receives access to the full gallery of final, edited images. Each party also gets a promotional use license, which covers:
- Social media (including paid ads)
- Websites and online portfolios
- Printed or digital marketing materials (like brochures, newsletters, and lookbooks)
This license allows each vendor to legally and confidently use the images to promote their role in the project. And if additional vendors want to use the photos later on, I’ll handle licensing with them directly. (For more details about licensing, check out my full guide to understanding photography licensing for designers and builders.)

How cost sharing for interior photography work
Everyone who wants to participate in cost sharing must be confirmed before the shoot takes place. Once the list of participants is set, I’ll handle all licensing agreements. That way everything is clear and squared away on the front end.
Here’s how the process works:
- All participants must commit before the shoot. Cost sharing is only available to vendors who are confirmed ahead of time.
- Each participant receives the gallery and promotional license. This ensures everyone who helped bring the project to life has the images and usage rights they need.
- If someone wants access after the shoot, they’ll need to license separately. They won’t receive the cost sharing rate, but I’m happy to work with them directly to license the images.
- We still plan the shoot together. Cost sharing simply gives others a way to benefit from the images you’re already helping bring to life.
