Best Patio Restaurants in Fort Worth for Outdoor Dining

Tips

back to blog

If you live in Fort Worth, you know we don’t have the normal four seasons of the year. Instead, its hot, hotter, hottest, and icemageddon. So when the weather is nice in Texas, you better believe you’ll find me at one of the best patio restaurants in Fort Worth. Luckily, Fort Worth has some great restaurants with outdoor seating. Whether you’re looking for date night downtown, a casual afternoon with friends, or family-friendly outdoor dining where the kids have room to play, I’ve got a list of my favorites. Here are my favorite go-to Fort Worth restaurants when the weather turns nice.

best patios in Fort Worth

Joe T. Garcia’s – A Fort Worth Patio Classic

I’m sharing this one first because its a given. Joe T. Garcia’s is a Fort Worth classic and a must-visit for anyone in town. The patio feels like an endless garden with fountains, greenery, and twinkling lights. It’s family-friendly, group-friendly, and always a good time. Pro tip: get the fajitas, go early, and bring cash!

Press Café

The original Press Cafe is located along the Trinity River and has one of the best patios in Fort Worth for brunch or dinner. It’s has a huge green area with trails nearby where kids can run around within view. The vibe is relaxed but upscale and great for get togethers with friends. There’s also a Press Cafe in Aledo – and while the patio isn’t as robust, its still a nice outdoor area and the kids love to watch the trains go by!

HG Sply Co. – Family-Friendly Patio Dining in Fort Worth

This patio stretches along the Trinity River, making it a perfect spot to watch the sunset after a walk or bike ride on the trails. It’s casual but lively, with fresh bowls, hearty plates, and great cocktails. HG Sply Co. is one of our family favorites due to their attention to food restrictions (lots of gluten free options!) and the kids menu is a big hit with my kiddos!

Gemelle – Backyard-Style Patio in Fort Worth

Colorful and fun, Gemelle’s patio feels like a backyard party with string lights and lawn games. Families will love the picnic table seating and casual vibe, while the pizza and frosé make it a hit for date night too.

Tinie’s Rooftop – Downtown Fort Worth Patio Dining

The rooftop at Tinie’s is one of the best patios in downtown Fort Worth. Tuesday nights are for tacos, and the waiters always have great recommendations for mezcal cocktails. This is more of an adult restaurant than family spot, so save this one for a fall date night.

Del Frisco’s Grille

In the heart of Sundance Square, Del Frisco’s Grille has a great patio for people-watching while sipping wine or sharing appetizers. I personally love their brunch menu!

Paloma Suerte

Bright, festive, and full of personality. Paloma Suerte’s Stockyards patio is perfect for Tex-Mex favorites and strong margaritas. It’s lively and family-friendly, especially earlier in the evening. Tip: if its your birthday, make sure you tell your waiter. One of the shy gentleman waiters is a trained opera singer and will give your table a performance to remember!

Fort Worth restaurants with outdoor seating

Quince – Scenic Trinity River Patio in Fort Worth

Another option along the Trinity River, Quince offers global flavors and one of the most scenic patios in Fort Worth. While it leans upscale, it’s approachable enough for kids (and dogs!) with a menu for both. They also offer fun things for the holidays – last year they had Santa Claus and a hot cocoa bar for the kids!

Dayne’s Craft BBQ (Aledo)

Worth the quick drive from Fort Worth, Dayne’s has the perfect family-friendly patio—kids can spread out while parents enjoy some of the best barbecue in Texas. At our table, my husband and son are all about the OG burger, my daughter loves the pulled pork, and I’m a turkey loyalist. Pro tip: their smoked turkey is a Thanksgiving favorite, but it’s preorder only and always sells out fast.

Why Patio Dining in Fort Worth Is the Best

Patio dining in Fort Worth isn’t just about the food—it’s about the experience. Whether you’re looking for family-friendly patios where the kids can tag along, rooftops with skyline views, or cozy wine bars for date night, Fort Worth restaurants offer it all. And if you’re up for a short drive, Dayne’s in Aledo is proof that some of the best outdoor dining is just outside the city. Want some activities before or after you patio dine?
